No. There is nothing for students to install or sign up for. They scan the code, enter their identifier, and they are done.

Whatever your school uses to recognise a student — a registration number or a student ID. If you upload a class list, students simply search for their own name instead of typing anything.

You can write your own instructions for a course, and they are shown on both the classroom screen and the check-in form.

The QR code changes throughout the session, so a screenshot forwarded to someone outside the room stops working quickly.

The same device also cannot check in under several different identifiers during the day.

You can grant a shared-device exemption from the session view. It allows a specific identifier to check in on a device that is already bound to someone else for that day.

Groups uses the students who have checked in for the current session. Choose approximately how many people you want in each group and HereHere! creates balanced groups from the people who are actually there.

Yes. You can create and adjust groups while check-in remains open. Students who arrive later can be added without starting over. Creating groups does not change what the room sees until you save them as this session's groups.

Groups are based on who has actually checked in, rather than the full class list. If you use groups from a previous session, HereHere! adjusts them around today's attendance and tries to avoid leaving incomplete groups behind.

Yes. When previous groups exist, you can ask HereHere! to preserve as much of the earlier group structure as possible while adjusting for who’s here today.

This is useful when students are working on something together over several sessions.

Yes. Choose Mix it up and HereHere! takes previous groupings into account when creating new combinations.

It will favour combinations of students who have worked together less often, while keeping the groups balanced.

Yes. Grouping history can take multiple previous sessions into account.

You can use recent sessions or a broader history depending on whether you want continuity or new combinations.

Yes. You can move students between groups, lock placements, exclude someone, or create the groups again before using them.

HereHere! notices when someone checks in after groups have been created. You can add the new student to the existing groups, and HereHere! makes the smallest sensible adjustment rather than rebuilding everything.

Yes. Once you're happy with the groups, save them as this session's groups. The classroom screen changes from the check-in code to a clear, large-format view of the groups.

Yes. Attendance can continue while groups are being used. You can switch the classroom screen between the check-in code and the current groups during the same session.

Yes. The same presenting link used for attendance works throughout the session.

Share it with a colleague and they can display the check-in code or whatever you choose to present without needing a HereHere! account.

The presenting link is display-only and does not give access to teacher controls.

HereHere! uses the current attendance list, previous groupings where available, and relevant course information that has been provided for grouping.

It does not infer sensitive personal characteristics from names, photographs, email addresses, devices, or other proxies.

Yes. Add a course collaborator and they manage the same course, sessions and attendance as you. We don't send them an email, so tell them yourself — access starts the first time they sign in with that address.

You can also share a presenting link so someone can show the classroom screen for a single session without an account.

Not directly. You download attendance as a CSV file from the course page and upload it in Canvas yourself. There is no connection between HereHere! and Canvas.

Yes. Every session lists who checked in and when, and the records can be downloaded at any time.

No. There is no location tracking. Attendance relies on being in the room when the code is on screen.

Your first course is free, with unlimited sessions in it. Paid plans add more courses, and Groups and Pick. Collaboration is included on every plan.
